Introduction

The SecureGate bot verifies users’ Reddit usernames before granting access to the secure server of your Discord community, ensuring a safeguarded environment. The streamlined process only allows authorized members access, providing a safe and exclusive space for the community.

How it works

SecureGate will send an ephemeral message to the Discord channel with a code. The user must send a message to the bot on Reddit containing the code. The bot will then verify the user and grant them server access.

At this time you cannot invite the reddit bot onto your subreddit for checking for banned users. This is a planned feature.

Commands

/verify

• Sends a message to the user with a code to verify their Reddit account.
• Usage: /verify

/help

• Sends a message to the user with a list of commands.
• Usage: /help

/ping

• Sends a message to the user with the bot’s latency.
• Usage: /ping

/invite

• Sends a message to the user with the bot’s invite link.
• Usage: /invite

/config

• Required Permissions: Manage Server or Administrator
• Sends a message to the user with the bot’s configuration.
• Usage:
  • /config set
    • /config set verifiedRole <role> Sets the role that will be given to verified users.
    • /config set setNickname <true/false> Sets whether the bot will set the user’s nickname to their Reddit username.
    • /config set minAccountAge <number> Sets the minimum required age of the user’s Reddit account in days.
    • /config set minKarma <number> Sets the minimum required (post + comment) karma of the user’s Reddit account.
    • /config set minCommentKarma <number> Sets the minimum required comment karma of the user’s Reddit account.
    • /config set minPostKarma <number> Sets the minimum required post karma of the user’s Reddit account.
  • /config get
    • /config get verifiedRole Gets the role that will be given to verified users.
